Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.

To support this ambitious goal, we are seeking a **Senior HIL/EGSE Test Applications Developer **to join our **HiL Engineering Team** in **Munich**. You will be responsible for the **design, implementation, and integration of automated test software applications** used to validate electronics at various levels — from individual boards to full subsystems — across our verification and validation campaigns.

You will play a key role in shaping the **test automation framework** used on our Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) platforms, working in close collaboration with electrical, avionics, and system engineers.

### Key Responsibilities
In your role as **Senior HIL/EGSE Test Applications Developer**, you will:

- Design, develop, and maintain **test automation software** for board-level, equipment-level, and subsystem-level testing

- Define and implement **hardware and software architectures** tailored to specific test scenarios and HiL environments

- Develop **LabVIEW-based applications**, for both desktop and real-time platforms (e.g., PXI, cRIO)

- Integrate and configure **NI VeriStand** as part of real-time test setups

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure **seamless integration** of hardware and software into functional test platforms

- Support test execution, data acquisition, logging, and **automated reporting**

- Create and maintain **technical documentation**, including architecture specifications, code documentation, and user guides

- Provide support for **debugging, troubleshooting**, and continuous improvement of test platforms

### You and your team will be in charge of:

- Developing a **robust and scalable test software framework** supporting reuse and modularity across projects

- Implementing **real-time data handling and I/O configuration** through NI hardware and LabVIEW RT

- Defining test automation workflows using **NI TestStand** and integrating them into the system test process

- Coordinating closely with electrical and system engineers to ensure **requirements traceability and test coverage**

- Contributing to the **continuous evolution of our HiL infrastructure**, with an emphasis on performance, reliability, and maintainability

- Ensuring all solutions meet **space-grade quality and safety standards**, aligned with project requirements

### Must-Have Skills and Qualifications

- **Bachelor’s or Master’s degree** in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

- **Proficiency in LabVIEW**, including desktop and real-time application development

- **Hands-on experience with NI VeriStand** in real-time test environments

- Familiarity with **NI TestStand** for test automation and execution management

- Solid understanding of **test platform architectures**, hardware/software integration, and real-time systems

- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills, with a structured and methodical approach

- Experience working with **LabVIEW FPGA** is appreciated

- Ability to write and integrate **Python scripts** to extend test workflows or support automation tasks

- Fluent in **English**, with excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Proven ability to **collaborate across disciplines**, drive initiatives, and deliver in a high-paced environment
