On defense, the U.S. Army picked L3Harris for VAMPIRE counter-drone systems in an order up to $106 million, production now running in Huntsville, Alabama. House appropriators released a $1.07 trillion FY27 defense bill funding the Space Force at $55.5 billion and Golden Dome at $379.9 million, but omitting $350 billion in reconciliation funding the administration seeks, leaving Golden Dome's planned $17.5 billion tranche exposed. NASA named Randy Bresnik to command Artemis 3 with Andre Douglas, Frank Rubio and ESA's Luca Parmitano, the mid-2027 flight docking with Blue Origin's Blue Moon Mark 2 and SpaceX's Starship prototypes in low Earth orbit.

Finnish SAR satellite operator ICEYE closed a €450 million Series F primary round led by General Atlantic, with Solidium, Tesi, Varma, Ilmarinen, Lifeline Ventures, Nokia, the Qatar Investment Authority and TCV participating. A secondary share sale brought the total transaction above €1 billion and valued the company at more than €10 billion. Nokia's stake positions the carrier as a potential strategic partner, and ICEYE plans to scale satellite manufacturing from 50 to 100 spacecraft a year by 2028.

ESA awards Thales Alenia Space €700M for Sentinel-1 NG
