L3Harris completes preliminary design review for SDA Tranche 3 missile-tracking satellites
LHX
L3Harris Technologies finished the preliminary design review for the Space Development Agency's Tracking Layer Tranche 3 program, confirming the baseline designs for its 18 TRKT3 space vehicles under a contract awarded in December 2025. The TRKT3 solution bundles satellites, infrared payloads, communications, networking and ground, and on-orbit will provide near-continuous missile warning and tracking inside the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture. L3Harris now has more than 70 missile tracking and defense satellites on order across SDA tranches.

Isaacman promises Artemis acceleration update in early October as Crew-13 nears launch
NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman told an industry conference in Houston on Wednesday that NASA will give an Artemis acceleration update in early October, potentially around the Crew-13 launch, saying many ingredients need to come together for the next lunar landing attempt. Isaacman also warned that China's Chang'e 7 and its planned robotic activity in Shackleton Crater could create exclusion-zone concerns at the Moon's south pole and said winning the race back to the lunar surface will shape allies' trust in US technology, security and standards.

NASA assigns Crew-14 to spring 2027 International Space Station (ISS) mission with Barron and Birch
SpaceX
NASA named the Crew-14 lineup for a long-duration ISS expedition launching no earlier than spring 2027, with NASA astronauts Kayla Barron as commander and Chris Birch as pilot, joined by JAXA's Makoto Suwa and Roscosmos cosmonaut Arutyun Kiviryan as mission specialists. The flight is the 14th commercial crew rotation under NASA's contract with SpaceX and will join Expeditions 75/76 to conduct science and technology demonstrations supporting future lunar and Mars missions.

Voyager and Exobiosphere add two more microgravity drug-screening campaigns on the ISS
VOYG
Voyager Technologies and Exobiosphere said two additional pharmaceutical and biotech screening campaigns will run on Exobiosphere's Orbital High-Throughput Screening platform aboard the ISS, following the mid-deck-locker system's planned April 2027 installation. The next two campaigns are targeted for an ISS resupply mission in June 2027 and the August-September 2027 window, with Voyager Europe handling mission management. The companies described the pace as commercial microgravity research moving from one-off access to a schedulable, recurring service.
