SpaceX agrees to buy 800 MHz spectrum from Grain Management for Starlink Mobile
SpaceX
SpaceX announced on October 8 that it agreed to buy a nationwide portfolio of licenses for up to 14 megahertz of paired spectrum in the 800 MHz band from Grain Management, subject to FCC approval, and said the low-band spectrum closes one of the main technical gaps to Starlink Mobile becoming a major U.S. mobile carrier. On October 9 Verizon closed down 8.75%, its worst day since July 2002, T-Mobile fell 13.27% and AT&T 9.81%, while SpaceX rose about 1%. FCC chair Brendan Carr said more than $100 billion of spectrum is likely to come to market over the next two years.

SpaceX launches 21 Tranche 1 Transport Layer satellites for the Space Development Agency
SpaceX
A Falcon 9 lifted off from Vandenberg Space Force Base at 12:39 a.m. PDT on October 11 with 21 data transport satellites for the Space Development Agency, five days after an automatic abort stopped the first attempt with 58 seconds left on the clock; SpaceX attributed that hold to off-nominal data on the second stage. Booster B1103 flew for the sixth time and landed at Landing Zone 4. The mission, Tranche 1 Transport Layer A, is the fourth to carry production satellites for the agency's Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture, which is meant to provide missile tracking and secure communications.
